My Mom’s favorite caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 30-06 Springfield. My favorite caliber is everything from a 270 Weatherby magnum to 300 magnum, 35 Whelen and 30-06 Springfield. I got my Weatherby 30-06 Springfield last fall at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Townsend. I ordered my Weatherby Ultramark in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Townsend, Delaware.
Our favorite rifle is the 30-06 Springfield I picked up online at the NRA store. My favorite hunt was for pronghorn antelope in Wyoming, but my favorite trip was fishing in Alaska. My favorite caliber is probably the 30-06 Springfield from Bass Pro Shops in Townsend. I like the the 270 Weatherby magnum best for deer hunting.
One issue when shooting the Weatherby at small steel targets at 70 yards was the 270 Weatherby magnum bullet got there too fast. My brother’s favorite gun is the first gun that my Russell gave me, which is a Weatherby Ultramark 30-06 Springfield.
