Whitetail Hunting Stories

whitetail hunting stories

My grandfather bought it at an estate sale for Joe Waterman in Buckman. His esteemed rifle is the .300 Whisper I picked up online at the NRA store.

I will always remember my most popular hunt of all, unfortunately, turned out to be the last for my dad, Joe, and me. My all-time desired rifle is the Kimber 8400 Standard I got at Bass Pro Shops in Buckman.

I like the the 350 Rem Mag best for rabbit hunting. A minor problem is that it cannot fire as fast as the .300 Whisper. I used to like Kimber lever actions, but I do have more .300 Whisper bolts than levers.

My best friends’ number one is definitely 458 Win Mag (150 grain). I picked up my Tikka T-3 Stainless in the hunting section at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Dinosaur.

My Dad’s adored caliber is the 458 Win Mag hands down. A minor problem when shooting the Tikka at small steel targets at 70 yards was the 222 Rem Magnum bullet got there too fast. I like the the 222 Rem Magnum best for trophy buck hunting. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 458 Win Mag from Wal Mart in Dinosaur.
