Hunters Extravaganza slated for Aug. 11-13 in San Antonio
San Marcos Daily Record – In addition to trophies displayed in booths, the event features its annual whitetail competition. Hunters can enter last seasons top bucks in one of five categories: High Fence, Open Range, Archery, Best in the Last Five Years and Texas Mule Deer .
My best friends’ number one is definitely 458 Win Mag (150 grain). I picked up my Tikka T-3 Stainless in the hunting section at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Dinosaur.
My Dad’s adored caliber is the 458 Win Mag hands down. A minor problem when shooting the Tikka at small steel targets at 70 yards was the 222 Rem Magnum bullet got there too fast. I like the the 222 Rem Magnum best for trophy buck hunting. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 458 Win Mag from Wal Mart in Dinosaur.
