His pet rifle is the 224 Mossberg Magnum I picked up online at the NRA store. My friend (Delbert) said his number one caliber is the 224 Remington Magnum he got at a DU banquet last season. The best shooting caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 224 Remington Magnum.

I like the the 338 Lapua Magnum best for rabbit hunting. Delbert got his Dakota last fall at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Secaucus. I like all my 338 Lapua Magnum and 224 Mossberg Magnum Dakota hunting rifles to be “tack drivers”. I got my Dakota 224 Ruger Magnum at the Target in Secaucus.

I ordered my Dakota Youth Hunter in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Secaucus, Nevada. A minor problem with the 224 Mossberg Magnum barrel is if you put a scope on you lose your irons, the scope rail runs into the rear sights so they have to come off to use a scope.
