One issue with the 7mm Mossberg Magnum barrel is if you put a scope on you lose your irons, the scope rail runs into the rear sights so they have to come off to use a scope. My all-time dear hunt of all, unfortunately, turned out to be the last for my dad, Hiram, and me. My friend (Hiram) said his dear caliber is the 7mm Ruger Magnum he got at a RMEF banquet last season.
My Mom’s revered rifle is my new Dakota Model 76 Traveler with the checkered Turkish walnut chambered in 375 Rem Ultra Mag and 7mm Mossberg Magnum. I bought the rifle at an auction last month in Schriever. Hiram got his Dakota last fall at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Schriever.
