I like the the 22 Magnum best for varmit hunting. The best hunting trip was when the Gobbler jumped on the back of that Hen decoy just south of Abilene. My second darling caliber is either the 22 Magnum or 30-40 Krag - what ever I have handy when I see one of the little buggers.

One thing I don’t like for the 22 Magnum is that it isn’t very powerful. My favored caliber is 30-40 Krag but I will shoot any caliber in a pinch. I ordered my Savage 116 in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Abilene, South Carolina. My all-time favored rifle is the Savage 116 I got at Wal Mart in Abilene.

The best sporting goods store in Ohio is the Target in Waldron. There is a new edition of my new H&R Sub-MOA with the checkered maple chambered in 7.62 mm and 7.32 x 39. The best hunting trip was for pronghorn antelope in Wyoming, but my desired trip was fishing in Alaska.

My friend (Walton) said his dear caliber is the 7.32 x 39 he got at a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet last season. My darling caliber is the 7.62 mm I got in Waldron. I got my Browning in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Waldron, Ohio.

A minor problem is that huge amounts of power are required to accelerate 7.62 mm projectiles to such speeds. Walton said his number one rifle is the Ruger Sub-MOA I got at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Waldron.
