A minor problem is if you’re a hunter, the ring or the lanyard on the Savage 114Ultra can snag on a branch or even your own clothing and possibly pop your receiver cover off. I like the the 7mm-06 best for buck hunting. Our beloved rifle is the 270 WSM I picked up online at the NRA store. My all-time revered gun is the Savage 114Ultra that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam.
My most popular caliber is 7mm-06 and 270 WSM. My all-time best-loved hunt was last fall just outside of Kewaunee. My friend (Stanton) said his darling caliber is the 270 WSM he got at a DU banquet last season. Stanton got his Savage last fall at Wal Mart in Kewaunee.
