My Dad’s favorite caliber would have to be a 45-70. My favorite caliber just for deer hunting in the woods of WI though is the 6.5 x 55, followed by the 45-70. Craig said his favorite rifle is the Savage 11-GL I got at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Labelle. My favorite rifle is my new Savage 11-GL with the walnut chambered in 6.5 x 55 and 45-70.
